Deputy Fire Chief (Retired)| Fire Marshal | Emergency Management & Training Leader

Jason Hosea served as Deputy Fire Chief for a major metropolitan department, where he lead 300+ personnel in fire rescue operations, large-scale emergencies, and policy development. With nearly 30 years in the fire service, he has partnered with local, state, and federal agencies to strengthen public safety and build more resilient communities. He also mentors the next generation of fire professionals as a professor at a local community college and a national facilitator with the IAFC, and through his consulting work, he continues to advance leadership and training across the fire service.

  • With nearly 30 years in fire service, Jason Hosea is a proven leader in fire operations, emergency management, and training development. As Deputy Fire Chief for a large metropolitan fire department, he oversees fire rescue operations, emergency response coordination, and personnel management for a workforce of 300+ personnel. He has led large-scale emergency incidents, implemented strategic policies, and collaborated with local, state, and federal agencies to enhance public safety and disaster preparedness.

    A recognized expert in fire service training, Jason serves as Fire Technology Program Coordinator and Professor at a local community college, where he develops curriculum and mentors future fire professionals. Additionally, as a national mentorship and equity course facilitator for the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC), he delivers training programs on leadership, recruitment, and team-building.

    Jason holds a Master of Science in Emergency Services Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Vocational Education from California State University, Long Beach, along with multiple fire service certifications, including Chief Fire Officer and Emergency Management Specialist. As the CEO of Costero Consulting LLC, he continues to drive training and leadership development in public safety.

    A respected fire service leader and educator, Jason remains committed to enhancing emergency response, strengthening fire service training, and mentoring the next generation of fire professionals.
